A: 因縁因果の道理（因果）とは、原因と条件が揃って結果が生じるという法則のことです。この老人は、修行を徹底すれば因果から自由になれるのだと言って、野狐になってしまいました。しかし、悟ろうが悟るまいが、この世界は因縁因果の道理で成り立っていますから、因果に落ちるとか落ちないではなく、因果を認めその中で生きつつ、真正面から向き合う（不昧因果）ことが肝心なのです。
