Q: なぜ達磨は、仏教の最も大切な真理（聖諦第一義）を「ない」と否定したのでしょうか？

A: なぜならば、真理を「どこか別の場所にある特別なもの」だと思い込むと、足元にある真実を見失ってしまうからです。多くの人は、聖なる真理を「自分とは違う、どこか高い場所にあるもの」と考え、外側に答えを探してしまいます。しかし、達磨は「今、ここで生きているあなた自身」を離れて真理はないと考えました。「聖なるものなど何もない（無聖）」と突き放すことで、達磨は相手の「外に追い求める心」を打ち砕こうとしたのです。
